The job market right now is absolutely terrible. People who thought they were safe suddenly find themselves without a job and are struggling to get by. This is true for Florian Penev, 49, of the Bronx, NY and his 36-year old wife Zdravka Zotkava. Penev had recently lost his job as a graphic designer and was struggling to get by.
He found a solution however: Craigslist. Craigslist is an excellent resource to sell items to make some extra money, something that everyone could use now-a-days. However, Penev wasn’t selling a car or baseball cards. He was selling men the chance to have sex with his wife.
Penev pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor prostitution conspiracy charge for advertising on Craigslist that people could have sex with his wife at a local hotel. He was fined a $2000 penalty for the offense. His wife was allowed into a court program that will result in prostitution charges against her being dismissed if she completes it.
Now these are the types of articles that actually make my jaw drop. How can anyone be that stupid I think to myself to promote prostitution online and think they aren’t going to get caught? Authorities were able to catch this by responding to the ad and then making an arrest at the hotel. I’m sorry but this sounds like a very dysfunctional couple to me, who by their names sound to be of foreign descent.
The article was very short and to the point. It gave minimal details but it told the story so that the reader could understand what was going on. It did not mention where their place of residence was and the writer did not have any quotes.
